Happy, Yipee, Yehey!!!

RXR Cebu Invasion - Day 3 (Ceby City Tour)

We decided to have our breakfast sa Chowking. To our surprise, most of the items listed in their menu are not available. Haist!!! Kung alam ko lang na ganun pala. Kaya ayun I ordered na lang Siopao and Siomai..No Choice na kasi.

After the SO SO breakfast, we met Yvonne (Lhen’s cousin). Yvonne will be our driver and tour guide as well for this day. Thanks Yvonne for the hospitality and kindness!!! Our first stop that day, Magellan’s Shrine and Basilica of Sto.Nino de Cebu. Nakakatawa dahil originally ang nakalagay sa itinerary namin is the Lapu-Lapu Shrine pero we ended visiting the Shrine of Magellan. So ironic…

Wala naman masyadong nagbago sa place since my last visit in 2009.

We did not waste any minute, kanya kanyang picture taking na kami agad.

Thanks God dahil wala gaanong pila that time sa Chapel of Sto. Nino. According to Wikipedia: “The Santo Niño de Cebú ("Holy Child of Cebu") is a Roman Catholic figure of the Child Jesus highly similar to the Infant Jesus of Prague. Like the image's counterpart in Prague, the figure is clothed in expensive textile robes mostly donations from fervent devotees in the Philippines and abroad. The statue is the oldest Catholic relic in the Philippines and permanently housed since 1565 at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño in Cebu City.”

The chapel houses the original image given by Ferdinand Magellan to Rajah Humabon and his wife Queena Juana. The image on the main altar of the Basilica is only a replica of this image. So much for the historical facts about the image... So, syempre after some moment of prayer and meditation ano pa nga ba ang sumunod? Syempre picture taking ulit. After that we went to the Souvenir shop to buy some memorabilias.

Since malapit ang Cebu Cathedral sa Basilica ng Sto. Nino dumiretso na din kami dun. We prayed and took some pictures. Halos lunch time na din kami natapos in this itinerary. So we decided to have lunch and buy some pasalubong. We told Yvonne that we will have lunch at CNT Lechon Restaurant but she said that the establishment outside the SM Cebu was already closed. Then she suggested that if we want we can eat Lechon Cebu at CNT Kiosk inside the SM Cebu. We all agreed with the plan.

They are not giving spoon and fork but instead they will give you plastic bag. Interesting talaga. We never tried it during my first visit in Cebu in 2009. I ordered another kilo of Lechon for take-out. I will bring it to Manila as Pasalubong.

After the delicious lunch, tuloy kami agad sa Supermarket to buy Shamrock Otap (ubos na kasi sa ibang store). Pagkatapos ay nagpasama ako sa kanila na bumili ng Starbucks Tumbler yung me nakalagay na Cebu City (these are my new collections).

Hinatid kami ni Yvonne at Lhen sa hotel and then Yvonne bid us goodbye. Three o’clock in the afternoon when we decided to leave the hotel and went to Taoist Temple. Nakakatuwa ang experience ko this time sa temple dahil hindi lang picture taking ang ginawa namin. Ron, Joanna and I tried to ask question and get answer by using two seed-like stones.

large_P5300969.jpg
large_P5300970.jpg

Halos 2 hours delayed ang flight back namin going back to Manila. At last after 2 hours ng paghihintay, boarding time na din and we flight back to Manila almost midnight na. We landed to Manila around 1 am, Tuesday na.
